Debut author Kerry Andrew placed with Jonathan Cape, Penguin Random House

October 6, 2016

Jonathan Cape bought world rights to the "atmospheric debut" Swansong, a contemporary story set in the Highlands of Scotland.

To be published in Spring 2018.

Debut author Kerry Andrew is a musician, singer, song-writer, and the winner of three British Composer Awards.

Robin Robertson acquired this beautiful story weaved around an ancient folk legend.  This novel has at its heart two very different characters: Polly, a self-hating English student with a dark secret and Jim, a quiet loner with his own hidden past. Surrounded by the wildness of the West Highlands and seeing white shapes that she may or may not be imagining, Polly learns as much about herself as she does about Jim. It’s in part a love story, as well as a story of grief and letting go.
